In line with the efforts of the Syria Trust for Development community centers in particular with the program "debate", the closing ceremony of the "Second National School Debate Championship 2019" was held in Collaboration between Syria Trust for Development and Institution of Excellence and Creativity On Thursday, 7 March in Damascus "Amaal" Theater.
In the presence of the Secretary-General of the "Trust", Mr. Fares Kallas, head of Institution of Excellence and Creativity Ms. Hala Al-Dakkak.
The final match between the two teams of Lattakia and rural Damascus, The ceremony concluded with the crowning of Lattakia team winner of the national championship of school debates 2019.
The first stage was at the schools level, 4000 students was trained from the 10th grade from 10 governorates (Damascus, rural Damascus, Aleppo, Lattakia, Tartous, Homs, Hama, Sweida, Daraa and Quneitra) and 50 students from the ten participating governorates was qualified for the second phase at the governorate level, each team with five students.
The ten teams met in Damascus within the camp, which lasted from March 1 to the seventh of the same month, the rate of four games a day, the teams of Lattakia and rural Damascus qualified for the finals
The next step is to select 16 students from different teams and governorates to choose a team of five students to represent the Syrian Arab Republic at the World Debating Championship to be held in Sri Lanka in July 2019.
